Ben posted the following Dan Bern lyric as an away message; "I said all I need is a wide open space to set forest fires in." or something to that effect. When pressed to explain how it is possible to have a forest fire in a wide open space, where presumably there is no forest, Ben got very defensive, downright hostile, and began making paranoid accusations. Could it be that I tapped into some deep well of insecurity and mental imbalance? If anyone has any ideas, about the song or Ben, let me know.

so it looks like i am going to be heading up to bard a week early. come party with me everyone.
also this movie is quite good,

American Splendor is a very smart movie, and as much as I hate to say so, it outdoes "Derrida", the documentary about that philosopher, in the way it approaches and even "deconstructs" the bio form. And it is not at all pretentious Solanum Macranthum about it, unlike "Derrida" with its deconstructionist, "we're filming Derrida look at footage we showed earlier! How insightful!" methods.
The point is, see it.

My dog has recently decided to start eating metal. This worries me a little. She has eaten, or at least chewed off, zippers on pants, the zipper on my bag, some A/V cables, staples in a wall, and the list goes on. Interestingly, she does not simply chew on whatever happens to be lying around, she actively seeks out new metal to eat. Earlier today she knocked a container of small nails off a table and was attempting to lick them up when I caught her. Even now, somewhere in the depths of the apartment, I can hear her chewing. I am not sure why she does this, we give her vitamin supplements that have iron, so I don't think that is the problem. Anyone have ideas?

How I triumphed in the blackout
Electricity... what a bastard. Really let us down yesterday. But it's ok, because I know that I can do electricity one better every time. It is because I have one of these: Yes. The power of 31,000 brush strokes a minute right in my hand. It makes me feel more confident, more like a man. In fact, I think it's sort of what owning a gun might feel like. Most importantly, it is a personal victory over electricity. Take that electric power! I own you. And I can put you in my mouth.

If this works, I am going to try to post a new song every day. Get them quick because at the moment I can have, maybe, 3 songs up at once. Since I don't have any money right now to pay for my own host, I am hosting this song for free (tripod) so if it doesn't work, not my fault. Know that with my terrible less than 56k connection, uploading a song takes about an hour. This is how much I care about bringing the music to the kids. Hope you like. Anyway. Here it is: American Analog Set - Hard to Find (right click - save as)
